今回ご紹介するヴァイオリンは、1986年に製作された一挺です。
明るいゴールデン・アンバーを基調とした透明感のあるニスの下には、二枚接ぎのメイプルによる美しい杢が広がります。見る角度や光の方向によって裏板の杢が大きく表情を変えるのも、この楽器の印象的な特徴です。
表板には比較的整った木目のスプルースが用いられ、端正に切られたf字孔、輪郭のはっきりとしたコーナー、エッジに沿って丁寧に収められたパーフリングなど、全体としてすっきりとした製作を見ることができます。スクロールも同じ明るい色調のニスでまとめられ、楽器全体に統一感のある仕上がりとなっています。
製作から約40年を経た現在も、1980年代のイタリアン・ヴァイオリンならではの雰囲気をよく伝える一挺です。
本楽器には、ジェノヴァの弦楽器製作家・鑑定家 Alberto Giordano氏による鑑定書が付属します。

Annibale Zuffa was an Italian violin maker associated with Solarolo in Emilia-Romagna. Instruments from the 1980s are documented under his name, and his work is represented in contemporary violin-making and instrument archives.
The violin presented here was made in 1986.
The instrument is finished with a transparent golden-amber varnish that reveals the attractive figure of its two-piece maple back. The flame changes noticeably with the direction of the light, giving the back a particularly lively visual character.
The spruce table displays relatively even grain, complemented by cleanly cut f-holes, clearly defined corners and neatly executed purfling. The scroll is finished in the same warm golden colour, creating a coherent appearance throughout the instrument.
Now approximately four decades old, this violin offers an attractive example of Italian violin making from the 1980s, with a distinctive combination of carefully selected materials and clean workmanship.
The violin is accompanied by a certificate by the Genoa-based violin maker and expert Alberto Giordano.
