Violin, Rusi Slavov, 2025 Cremona
14歳からブルガリアで弦楽器製作を学び、その後、クレモナのIstituto Superiore Antonio Stradivariへ進学。クレモナで研鑽を重ね、2008年には旧市街に自身の工房を構えました。2011年にはイタリア国籍を取得し、現在もクレモナで製作を続けています。
製作には厳選し十分に乾燥させた木材を使用し、ニスや樹脂についても伝統的な製法をもとに自身の工房で調合。クラシカルなクレモナの製作を基礎としながら、歴史的名器に着想を得たモデルやアンティーク仕上げなどにも取り組み、伝統と自身の感性を融合させた楽器を製作しています。
また、Slavovは製作活動の初期に、**「Rosario Salvi」**というイタリア風の名前を用いた作品も知られています。Rosario Salviは別の製作家ではなく、Rusi Slavov自身が初期に使用していた名称です。今回当店でご紹介する楽器にはRosario Salviの署名はなく、Rusi Slavov自身の名による作品です。
製作コンクールでも高い評価を受け、2010年にはミッテンヴァルト国際コンクールのファイナリスト、2011年にはPisogneの製作コンクールにおいてヴァイオリン、チェロの両部門で3位を獲得しています。
ブルガリアで始まった製作家としての歩みと、長年にわたり培ってきたクレモナの伝統。その双方を背景に、Rusi Slavovは現代の演奏家のための楽器を製作し続けています。
Rusi Slavov, born in Karlovo, Bulgaria in 1979, is a violin maker based in Cremona, Italy.
He began studying instrument making in Bulgaria at the age of fourteen before continuing his education at the Istituto Superiore Antonio Stradivari in Cremona. After further developing his craft in Cremona, he established his own workshop in the historic centre of the city in 2008. He became an Italian citizen in 2011 and continues to live and work in Cremona today.
Slavov carefully selects well-seasoned woods for his instruments and prepares his own resins and varnishes in the workshop, drawing upon traditional methods. Rooted in the classical Cremonese tradition, his work includes interpretations of historic models as well as antiqued instruments, combining traditional craftsmanship with his own individual approach as a contemporary maker.
During the earlier stage of his career, Slavov is also known to have used the Italian-style name “Rosario Salvi” on some of his instruments. Rosario Salvi is not a separate maker, but a name used by Rusi Slavov himself during this earlier period. The instrument presented here does not bear the Rosario Salvi signature and is offered under the maker’s own name, Rusi Slavov.
His work has also received recognition in violin-making competitions. He was a finalist at the 2010 International Violin Making Competition in Mittenwald, and in 2011 achieved third place in both the violin and cello categories at the violin-making competition in Pisogne.
Bringing together the foundations of his early training in Bulgaria with the Cremonese tradition he has cultivated over many years, Rusi Slavov continues to create instruments in Cremona for the needs of today’s musicians.
